Arrandale is 1,820 feet [554.74 m] above sea level.
Arrandale Cannery on the Nass River was built in 1904 by John Wallace and purchased by the Anglo-British Columbia Packing Company in 1911. After salmon canning ceased there in 1942, the plant continued to be operated as a fish camp, managed through the North Pacific Cannery.
Arrandale (Post Office, fishing & mining settlement) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC map 3M, 1916, "up to 600 residents in fishing season"; form of name changed to Arrandale (Settlement) 3 April 1958 on C.3994, then to Arrandale (Locality) 29 November 1984. Rescinded 28 March 1988 on 103J/16, upon the advice of the Hydrographic Service: "site of former cannery, only pilings remain".
